Frankfort, Heating and Air Contractors

In the early 1700s, the first Europeans in Northern Illinois were trappers and fur traders. When the Black Hawk war ended in 1832, numerous settlers began moving to the vast prairies that covered the area just south of Chicago. With its fertile soil, the area proved attractive to many people who arrived from different parts of the country to begin farming, and before long, the area was home to a sizeable German population. Established in 1850, Frankfort Township was named after Frankfurt, Germany.

When the Joliet and Northern Indiana Railroad came to the area, the new community became known as Frankfort Station, and plans were made to develop the area into a village. In 1879, the Village of Frankfort was formally incorporated. As local farmers shipped their produce from Frankfort to Joliet and Chicago, the village thrived. Over the years, Frankfurt has grown into a suburb of Chicago, but it has still managed to retain much of its small-town charm.

Frankfort is located in the northeastern part of Illinois and has a total area of 15 square miles. The village is located about 36 miles southwest of Chicago and is approximately 19 miles east of Joliet.

According to the latest figures, Frankfort has a population of about 18,000 people. Approximately 95 percent of the residents have graduated from high school, and nearly 41 percent of the adults have graduated from college. The median income in the village is nearly $131,000, and the median value of a home in Frankfort is approximately $377,000.
